Today I will share with you the causes of early cylinder wear.
(1) New or overhauled engines are put into operation without rigorous running-in test runs, resulting in early wear of cylinders and other parts.
(2) long-term overload operation. Due to the long-term overload operation of the engine, the temperature of the machine rises, the lubricating oil becomes thinner, the lubrication is poor, and the wear of cylinder liner, piston and piston ring and other parts is accelerated. Also due to the rise of oil, inflation coefficient decline, fuel and air ratio imbalance, incomplete combustion, cylinder and other parts of the carbon increase, causing cylinder failure, thus accelerating the early wear of the cylinder.
(3) Long idle operation. When the engine is idle for a long time, the temperature is too low, the lubrication is poor, the combustion is incomplete, the carbon accumulation is much, and the early wear of the cylinder is accelerated. And because the machine temperature is low, the cylinder is easy to produce acidic substances, thus corroding the cylinder, producing pitting spalling, causing the early wear of the cylinder.
(4) Frequent starting. After engine extinguishing, the oil in the lubricating oil circuit soon flows back to the oil pan, so frequent starting will make the surface of the cylinder liner, piston and piston ring parts in a state of dry friction or semi-dry friction, which will inevitably accelerate the wear of the cylinder liner.
(5) do not pay attention to the maintenance of the air filter, resulting in serious blockage of the air filter element, without the air filter directly into the cylinder. The air contains a variety of dust impurities, of which silica accounts for more than half, its hardness is more than steel, so the air into the cylinder, accelerate the cylinder wear.
(6) Change the oil irregularly. After the oil is used for a certain time, it gradually ages and deteriorates, loses lubrication, and is mixed with some mechanical impurities to cause abrasive wear.
(7) Fuel supply during engine starting and preheating. When the temperature of multi-cylinder diesel engine is lower than 5℃, it must be fully preheated before it can supply oil to the cylinder. However, during the preheating period, it is not only difficult to start, but also the fuel injected in advance, because of incomplete calcination, the carbon accumulation of the cylinder increases, which accelerates the wear of the cylinder.
(8) The engine is put into operation without preheating after starting. Because the engine temperature is too low, the throttle is immediately increased, the combustion is incomplete, the cylinder carbon accumulation is increased, and the cylinder wear is accelerated.
