Two, radiator operation matters needing attention
The coolant in the radiator of a diesel generator is usually very hot and pressurized. Do not clean the radiator or remove the pipe while it is not cooled. Do not work on the radiator or open the fan protection cover while the fan is running.
Three, prevent radiator corrosion
The radiator should not be in a partially flooded condition, as this will accelerate corrosion. For non-working generator sets, all water should be pumped out or filled up. If possible, use distilled or naturally soft water and use a moderate amount of rust inhibitor.
Four, the sediment removal in the radiator
Stubborn sediment, which cannot be removed in the above manner, can be removed from the radiator and soaked in hot lye water for about 20 minutes, then rinsed with hot water. If you choose to use hard water irrigation for a period of time because the joint is leaking, or because the diesel generator has been running for a period of time without the use of rust remover, the cooling system may be blocked by scale.
Five, keep the radiator outside clean
External cleaning: In dusty or dirty environments, the joints of the radiator may be blocked by debris, insects, etc., which will affect the efficiency of the radiator. Frequent cleaning of these light deposits can be done by spraying the steam or water from the front of the radiator towards the fan with low-pressure hot water and a cleaner. Spraying from the opposite direction will only bring the dirt closer to the center. When using this method, cover the diesel engine and alternator with cloth.
